Treatment Process

Various approaches to mental health problems and issues are possible.  I utilize evidence-based practices, which are those that have been tested clinically and validated by research.  Some of the treatment modalities available to you will be Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and trauma-informed therapy, including therapeutic tools such as EMDR, guided imagery, Mindfulness training, and Brainspotting.  We can work together to choose the type of treatment best suited to your needs and with which you are most comfortable.  I would be happy to answer any specific questions you have either on the phone or in person.

Location of Services

My office is located at RUAH Center, 1110 N Washington St., Naperville, IL, located at the corner of 11th and Washington.  This is just north of the intersection of Ogden and Washington and immediately past the Ace Hardware store.

Payment & Insurance

  • Preferred provider for:
    • Blue Cross Blue Shield
    • Blue Choice
    • Health Alliance

I can also see individuals with most other health insurance policies, though your cost may be higher when you utilize an out-of-network provider. I am willing to consider a single case agreement with your insurance company, if available, so you can utilize in-network benefits.

It is wise to check with your insurance company about your mental health benefits to assist you in seeking services.   Payment is preferred at time of service, but an arrangement that will work for you is possible.  I accept the following forms of payment: American Express, Cash, Check, Discover, Health Savings Account, Mastercard, Paypal, VISA.

Cancellation Policy

When scheduling an appointment, I am reserving that time for you. Except for unforeseen emergencies, I request 24 hours advanced notice to cancel or reschedule sessions.  Appointments that are not cancelled 24 hours in advance may still be billed at a partial rate, unless due to emergency or illness.  Insurance companies do not pay for missed appointments, so the cost falls to you.

I maintain strict confidentiality with all clients. If there is a need to discuss client information with other professionals, I will request written consent from you.  There are general limits to confidentiality that I must observe, including the following: 1) If you tell me about a child that is being neglected or abused; 2) If you tell me about a person aged 60 or over who is being neglected or abused and cannot report it her/himself; 3) If you are an imminent danger to yourself or others, or there is a situation where there is serious and foreseeable harm. In these cases, I am a mandated reporter by law and must notify the appropriate authorities or individuals. For clients with special circumstances, such as parolees, additional limits to confidentiality may apply.

I am available to my clients during emergencies by cell phone.  You are welcome to call me at 618-713-5672 in emergency situations.  If I do not return your call within 15 minutes, I strongly encourage you to call 911 or go to an emergency room if you are having a life-threatening crisis. Other resources are also available, such as the Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255,, the Dupage Crisis Line at 630-627-1700, and Domestic Violence 24-Hour Referral Service at 1-800-603-HELP.
